Rules and Regulations for Museums - SCA Museum Photo Policy

Photography of any sort by non-SCA photographers is currently prohibited in SCA Museums.

Low Resolution Images:
Low-resolution reference images of objects in a museum’s collections, for non-commercial purposes only, may be downloaded from that museum’s web site, or requests may be sent to:

Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary General
3 Adel Abu Bakr Street
Zamalek, Cairo
pyramiza2007@gmail.com

When making a request, please include clear object descriptions, and, if possible, museum identification numbers, along with information about specific angles or details desired (you may use the attached Outside Request form ).

Note that scholars will no longer be able to take their own reference photos, unless they are given special permission by the museum director or Permanent Committee. Scholars may request that a museum photographer accompany them during study sessions to take any low-resolution reference photographs they might need. Such photographs would be incorporated immediately into the museum’s image bank, and copies would also be provided to the scholar.

High Resolution Images:
It is possible to obtain high-resolution digital images or prints of objects in the museum’s collections for scholarly or commercial use according to the following fee schedules.

For Commercial Use:
