The Meidum Geese

This painting depicts six geese feeding on tufts of grass. Each one is unique, its plumage rendered in strikingly natural detail. The scene, originally located in the mastaba of Nefermaat and Atet at Meidum, is an outstanding example of the artistic skill of the painters of the Old Kingdom.
