The Wife of the Sheikh el-Beled This wooden bust is part of a statue of the wife of the high official Ka-aper. Ka-aper, whose principal title was “Chief lector priest,” is known today as the Sheikh el-Beled, or “village chief,” because the workmen who found his tomb thought he looked like the the headman of their town. |
