Anubis Shrine

This shrine was discovered in the tomb of King Tutankhamun (KV 62). Anubis is shown in the form of a black super-jackal resting upon the shrine’s sliding cover. An important funerary god, Anubis was associated with mummification and cemeteries. He also guided the deceased to the next world and presented him or her to Osiris.
