Statue of Osiris

Osiris was the god of the underworld and brother and husband of the goddess Isis. He is shown seated, wearing a tight garment that identifies him as a mummy. He also wears the Atef Crown, the white crown of Upper Egypt with a feather on each side. Osiris is shown holding the crook and flail, essential elements of the royal regalia. The statue was discovered in the tomb of Psammetik at Saqqara in 1863.
