The God Horus as a Falcon

This model of the god Horus, son of the god Osiris and the goddess Isis, depicts him in the form of a falcon. He is shown wearing the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt. The king was considered the embodiment of Horus on earth. A major temple of Horus dating to the Ptolemaic period still stands at Edfu.
